Our goal is the success of our students – the most direct route to cap and gown in the program of study they desire. This requires optimal placement of credit already earned, matched to degrees which offer curricula that meet the desires of students from cost-effective, accredited colleges and universities, most of which are listed in the latest edition of U.S. News and World Report’s® America’s Best Colleges issue, as indicated in red below. With thousands of degrees available at a distance from hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation, we are confident that we can find the right degrees to match your needs, goals, and desires, minimizing loss of credit in transfer, maximizing application of the credit you have already earned, and thereby saving you time and money. The National College Counseling Center is the only place in the nation offering state-of-the-art support from the award-winning degree exploration system, Degree Quest. Most of these institutions have served corporations, businesses, government agencies, the military and veteran communities for many years, awarding college credit for the extra-institutional learning of thousands of students.
We welcome the opportunity to add more colleges and universities to this system. Our goal is to provide students with the greatest opportunity possible to explore the application of their adult & experiential learning credit toward degrees from accredited colleges and universities across the nation.
Many of the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning (CAEL) and the American Council on Education (ACE) cooperating colleges and universities participate. We welcome others who would like to explore the opportunity of participating. There is no cost to participate, however, information built into the system regarding each degree must be approved by the respective college or university before students are allowed to view them. College and university representatives desiring to participate are encouraged to send e-mail requesting more information. Because there are more than a million who work for the corporations, businesses, and government agencies that we serve live across the nation and around the world, accredited colleges and universities offering degrees at a distance or with campus extensions in multiple locations usually best serve our clients. Most importantly, we seek colleges and universities that are willing to award college credit based on documented ACE recommendations or prior learning assessment and/or institutional evaluation of professional training for college credit using CAEL standards. Only colleges and universities accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation are allowed to participate. This will be verified by referencing ACE's publication, Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education.
The list to the left is not a complete listing. There are dozens of other accredited colleges and universities that have recently been invited and have had their degrees added to the system. These draft degree plans have been forwarded to the respective contacts for review and approval by the college or university. No degree information is ever released to students without approval of the content of the degree plan template by the host college. All student degree plans created by the College Counseling Center staff are considered unofficial until the host college or university accepts the credit on matriculation. A point of contact is in place at each institution to support students referred by the College Counseling Center to provide a courtesy review of the information and to facilitate admissions. Each and every month we are inviting other colleges and universities to participate and adding more degrees to the National College Counseling Center system for student support.
